Enjoy live music by Julianne and Barry Johnston of the Brookline Music School. Explore the garden with your little ones. Play croquet, bocce, ring toss, and other lawn games that will be set up throughout the garden. Take a family photo among the beautiful gardens.

Patriots' Day Weekend in Lexington

Patriots Day weekend events in Lexington Massachusetts birthplace of American Liberty

The Battle of Lexington is commemorated every year on the third Monday in April. We pay tribute to those patriots who first fell on the Lexington Green on the morning of April 19, 1775, and to the courage and fortitude of those who continued the fight throughout the day.  Come to Lexington, the birthplace of American Liberty, for reenactments of historically important battles, specifically the Battle of Lexington and Parker's Revenge. There will also be numerous guided walking tours and trolley tours available, memorial ceremonies and parades. Check the schedule and plan a trip to see where the country we live in began!

The NTL's own Kati Bourque will present a brief history on Ukrainian Easter Eggs and teach you how to create your own egg. All materials will be provided and you will go home with an egg that you made! This program is geared towards teens and adults, as you will be handling a raw egg, a lit candle, and permanent dyes. The Nutcracker Panto

Come enjoy a Nutcracker Panto performed by Theater in the Open at the Firehouse Center for the Arts!

The tree is lit up and the stockings are hung and Clara’s Christmas is perfect…except for her Uncle Drosselmeyer sitting up on that clock and the sudden rat infestation…sounds like panto time!Edward Speck and Joshua Shack return to direct another cracking holiday panto, this time seizing on Tchaikovsky’s classic holiday tale to do what panto does best: make a favorite old story new and particular to our place and time again. What does Clara’s magical journey have to teach us? How many nuts would a nutcracker crack if a nutcracker could crack nuts? Let’s find out! Come with us as panto and ballet collide in a delicious mix of sugar plums and pies-in-the-face, dance and comedy, fairies and snowballs, in A Nutcracker Panto!
