Come listen to some great music by two bands made up of Salem residents and others from Grade 7 through adult, under the direction of Cynthia Napierkowski, director of the Salem High School Band. Event takes place at the Salem High School Auditorium serving as a rain location.

Events are scheduled around Salem throughout the week, kicking off with the annual Salem Maritime Festival and concluding with the Essex Street Fair, produced by the Salem Chamber of Commerce. The days in between are filled with food, fun, comedy and music for all ages.
Climb aboard Naumkeag, Essex Heritage’s landing craft for a trip to Bakers Island Light Station. Enjoy a 30-minute cruise from Salem past rugged coastline, harbor islands, and five lighthouses to Bakers Island. The light station is a 10-acre property that has been in use aiding in maritime navigation for almost 250 years. The site features an 1820 light tower, two keepers houses, and historic trails. During your visit you will have the chance to explore the natural landscape, learn about the history of the light station, and relax on the island setting.
Come to Mack Park in Salem, Massachusetts for food, drinks, music, and fun to support the Mack Park Farm! Our mission is to to enhance local & regional food security by providing our community with healthy, locally grown food, build community through urban farming, & engage the community in the benefits of regenerative farming practices. This is a fundraiser for Mack Park Farm Community Garden.
Marine Society Outings are designed for children ages 8-14. Each outing is five hours on the water, 9:00-2:00, usually with a stop at the islands to swim off the boat (swimming is optional). Participants raise and trim the sails, learn knots, steer the boat, and play silly camp games. We accept 16 kids per session. Cost is $85. For Salem residents the cost is just $55, thanks to the Marine Society! In the event of bad weather, Outings may be postponed to the next day, or cancelled, in which case you will receive a refund.
Experience the rich cultural heritage of Salem, Massachusetts at the House of Seven Gables ! All are invited to a vibrant celebration of food, music, traditions, and more. Since its founding, The House of the Seven Gables Settlement Association has been dedicated to helping newly immigrated individuals and their families to thrive in the United States. While the groups arriving in Salem have changed over the years, The Gables’ drive to provide guidance and education has not. We are taking this special day to celebrate the backgrounds and cultures of students in the ESL and Citizenship classes at The House of the Seven Gables and how they have contributed to the growth of such a diverse and colorful city.
Youngsters get a chance to climb and explore the insides of all kinds of big trucks and emergency vehicles. There will be give-a-ways and activities on site for little tikes.
Wrap up Heritage Days with music in the park! S.C.E.N.E Annual Sunset Hang at Salem Willows is an event combining the skills of local vj's, dj's & live electronic musicians. The extravaganza’s purpose is: “to showcase talent right here in Salem, the North Shore & Boston Massachusetts. To give a stage for new music that might otherwise be overlooked by the mainstream." Help us celebrate our 15th Year!
Join us for the annual Salem Maritime Festival on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Salem Maritime National Historical Park on Derby Street. This event is free and open to the public. Salem Maritime Festival will feature a cardboard boat race, free tours and programs at historic buildings and the Friendship of Salem, food trucks and lawn games.
