Trick-or-Treat at the Castle

Kids are invited to Hammond Castle in Gloucester Massachusetts for some Halloween fun!

What better place to trick or treat than at an old seaside castle? We have everything you need to ignite your child’s imagination: a drawbridge, spiral staircase, and a Great Hall. We will have spooky music, multiple trick or treat stations inside the castle and bubbles, snacks, and a craft at the 13th Century arches. You bring the scary costumes.

CoastSweep: Gloucester

CoastSweep volunteers catalog marine debris collected at Cripple Cove in Gloucester Massachusetts

As part of COASTSWEEP Beach Cleanup, volunteers are encouraged to come to Gloucester to help in the statewide effort to keep our coastline clean along the Gloucester beaches and shoreline. Trash collected will be measured and analyzed, and the data will be sent to Washington DC to aid the government in creating legislation to minimize trash in our oceans! This specific cleanup is coordinated by Michael Mitchell and the Community Church of East Gloucester, and will cover up to 8 beaches in Gloucester.

Free to the public and hosted at Stage Fort Park, the G400+ A Celebration of Place 2-day extravaganza will showcase the rich and diverse cultural history of Gloucester. Festivities will include performances from local singer-songwriters, cultural dance performances, including those by the Wampanoag Nation Singers and Dancers, a collaborative community art project, and booths representative of our cultural communities.

Hosted by the Sawyer Free Library the club is designed to nurture interest in science in a group setting. Late August's session is a day outing to the Burnham Field Community Garden.

Stroller Walks at Appleton Farms

Stroller Walks at Appleton Farms help families with toddlers to connect with nature in Ipswich Massachusetts!

To encourage time in nature, familiarity with the natural world, and a time for parents and children to get together outdoors, our popular infant/toddler stroller walks will return at Appleton Farms. These hour long walks will be on Tuesdays from 9-10am. Come to one or all of the sessions and explore the farmyard, fields, and forest, and imagine hidden worlds beneath our feet and above our heads. Children and their care-givers will have the opportunity to take in fresh air, be with other families, and walk diverse trails on the farm. This is a great time to socialize with other parents and get your kids in nature, unwind and relax at the farm!
