Welcome all! Join Trustees staff in conjunction with Waypoint Adventure for an inclusive hike around Ravenswood Reservation. This special outing invites individuals both with and without disabilities to participate in an outdoor adventure. Enjoy connecting with nature and other hikers in a safe and supportive environment.
Waypoint Adventure is a non-profit educational organization that uses quality experiential and adventure-based programs to transform the lives of individuals with disabilities and their communities. The mission of Waypoint Adventure is to challenge youth and adults with disabilities to discover their purpose, talents and strengths through the transforming power of adventure. Waypoint believes that all people, regardless of ability, will have opportunities for adventure, and through them realize their personal value, strengths and abilities.
This is an easy hike on wide, unpaved carriage paths with slight inclines in some sections. We will have a limited number of wheelchairs available. If more people sign up that need wheelchairs than we have available, we will go based on registration date. Waypoint will also provide social stories, visual schedules, and adaptive instructional materials to meet people’s needs.
Registration deadline is November 13th. Contact information will be provided to Waypoint Adventure to conduct intake calls to learn about your or your participants strengths and needs. Please let us know if you require accommodations of any kind.
Pre-registration is required for this event. Parking is included with your registration.
