Join award-winning sculptor Dale Rogers on an exploration of FLIGHT, a large-scale sculpture exhibited on the breath-taking grounds that overlook the beautiful marshes of Essex! Enjoy the presentation, then stroll the grounds or pack a picnic and stay to enjoy the scenery!
Come on down to the Essex Shipbuilding Museum for Salty Dog Day - a fun celebration of the long history of dogs in the maritime trades! This family event is a wonderful opportunity to wander around the Museum and have fun with your family and pets! Salty Dog Day features water rescue demonstrations, an agility course, a costume parade, vendors, hot dogs and more!
Join Greenbelt for a monthly "experience" on the water. Bring your own kayak or canoe, or use a Greenbelt loaner. We'll depart from Greenbelt's Cox Reservation Headquarters and paddle the Essex River. Please RSVP and let us know if you need a loaner and life jackets. Dress for the weather. Hat, sunscreen, bug spray, camera and binolculars recommended. NOTE: as of August 21, 2013 this event no longer has loaner kayak or canoes available!
What lives in the mud, grass, and water of a salt marsh? How is the marsh like a sponge? We'll use nets and trowels to look for mussels, clams, oysters, hermit crabs, and other marsh critters. Watch egrets in flight and participate in a snail race as you explore the hidden wonders of the salt marsh. Prepare to get muddy!

The Essex Bay Sailing Club will offer sailing lessons for its 11th season at Conomo Point in Essex. The program is designed for children ages 8 and older who want to have fun learning to sail. In addition to sailing, the program introduces sailors to the fundamentals of boating safety, navigation, weather awareness and essential seamanship skills within the shelter of the Essex River estuary.
