Maudslay State Park has one of the best stands of rhododendrons in New England, and well worth the trip! Lynn Woods - The South Side Lynn Woods is one of the largest municipal forests in the United States at 2,200 acres. Walden Pond (not Thoreau’s) divides the park into northern and southern sections. In this walk we’ll explore the older, south side of the park following mostly wide Ox paths.
We'll be celebrating our unique farm history and all things dairy during a Sunday, June 17, Open House event. This “farm-tastic” occasion will highlight the recently completed dairy store and dairy plant as well as the opening of the new visitor center.
Free tours of the Whipple House on this first 17th Century Saturday of the season! The authentic reproduction 1657 Knight House nears completion. Plimoth Plantation will assist during the summer to install the thatch roof. Heard House tours are $7 for non-members, free for members.
Parker River National Wildlife Refuge invites people of all ages to celebrate Endangered Species Day on Sunday May 19th from 12pm-3pm at the Refuge Visitor Center. Endangered Species Day was designated to educate the American public on the importance of protecting endangered species and highlight the everyday actions that individuals can take to help protect our nation’s wildlife, fish, and plants.
