Musicians Mike and Beverly Rogers will be at the Manchester Public Library on Saturday, January 26th, 11 AM with a Harmonica Workshop for adults and children ages 8 and older. Everyone attending will not only hear the harmonica stylings of this musical duo, but will receive a harmonica lesson at the workshop to get you started with your very own harmonica to take home!

College essays stalling? Don’t panic! Sign up for the Writing Rescue’s College Essay Help Sessions where you can find your voice, promote yourself, and avoid common mistakes. Bring your Chromebook or laptop, at least an initial draft of an essay (or beyond), and prompts from individual colleges. Barbara Rose of Writing Rescue is an Ivy grad and writing professional.
Children, in grades 1-5, who are struggling with reading are invited to read with Coco! Certified reading therapy dog Coco, and her owner Randi, will visit the library twice a month to help children practice reading and gain confidence. Six 10 minute slots (3 per day) will be available for children to read aloud to Coco one-on-one. Children may bring their own book or use a library book.
Registration is required for Bark and Read, a program that boost the confidence of young readers with Christine Christoforo and her dogs, Cayenne and Rue, who have been trained by Therapy Dogs International. Registration is required for 15 time slots with the dog. Stop by the Children's Room or call us at 978-412-8713 to sign up. This program is best for tentative readers and/or children who might be uncomfortable with dogs.
Come to the Children’s Room for a LEGO Family Build. We’ll provide the LEGOs; you provide the family and the building ideas. Bring your smart phone or camera to snap some photos of your creations as we will build, then take it all apart!
TOHP Burnham Public Library invites kids, ages 6 and older, join us as we welcome actress Carole Weidman as she acts and shares with us the story of the REAL Pocahontas.
Brighten up your yard this winter with a bird feeder handmade by you and your child. Each family will receive a kit containing all the necessary parts to build a feeder that will attract chickadees, titmice, nuthatches, cardinals, and many other birds to your yard. Mass Audubon's Scott Santino from Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary will explain winter birds and then lead a workshop to build bird feeders.
