Gloucester is gearing up for an exciting Independence Day celebration. Experience the beauty of Gloucester’s skyline with a mesmerizing fireworks display. Watch the night sky light up with vibrant colors over popular locations around Gloucester.
The fun starts when 200 tons of imported sand is dropped on Hampton Beach and the “Grady Bunch” starts pounding up the sponsor site. The entire area is illuminated for night viewing through June 26. Plus live music by Uncharted Watahs and fireworks by American Thunder. Bicentennial tee-shirts, hoodies, commemorative calendars and Madame Varney tea towels will be for sale.
Come on down to Coley Lee Field at Peabody Veterans Memorial High School on Sunday, August 6th for a night of “pops” and big band music from Hillyer Festival Orchestra. And once the sun goes down….the fireworks go up. After much success with last summer’s centennial fireworks show, Peabody has decided to return with another Fireworks Spectacular! Mayor Bettencourt’s Annual Summer Concert and Fireworks Spectacular will begin at 7:00 p.m. Feel free to bring your blankets and lawn chairs.
Note: Due to the weather, these events have been postponed to Labor Day Monday. The Mayor's Race is a major part of the Gloucester Schooner Festival 2024, where participating schooners in the weekend activities compete for for the Esperanto Cup, Ned Cameron Trophy and Betty Ramsey Trophy off Eastern Point and East Gloucester.
