An informal weekly club for 10 - 14 year olds to play Minecraft together! Come explore this amazing creative world! Those new to Minecraft are welcome as instruction will be given by other experienced Minecrafters!
Come enjoy some fun activities in the library side yard! Bring a teddy bear to join in the picnic! We'll have crafts, activities and a teddy bear snack!
Great for ages 3 - 9. Registration is required for this vacation week activity!
Teens are invited to Abbot Public Library for a fun afternoon of crafting. Prepare for springtime with a summer camp favorite! Learn how to make a colorful keychain or zipper pull using plastic lacing. Make a simple box stitch keychain with two colors, or learn how to do more advanced shapes with three and four colors. Instructions will be provided, and no registration is required.
Cape Ann is known worldwide for its exciting concentrations of winter seabirds. Thousands of birders visit the rugged coast of Cape Ann and scan the adjacent waters hoping to spot some of the unusual and highly sought-after seabirds that spend the winter months just offshore. The best way to get to see these birds and experience them up close is to visit them in their natural habitat- on the ocean!
The TOHP Burnham Public Library in Essex hosts a knitting club for anybody aged 6 and up! Children ages 6 years and older with an adult-Learn the basics of knitting AND sewing with Ms. Christine. No experience necessary! Build hand strength and dexterity which will support fine motor skills. Participants will receive knitting needles and yarn to keep. Students of chess in grades 4-6 are invited to play each other using chess clocks after school on Wednesdays. Boards, pieces, and clocks will be provided, but not instruction. Children who already know the game and some moves may play against each other. Competing pairs have one half hour to play. Caregivers are invited. Registration is required – please call the Children’s Room at (781) 631-1481.
ECTA is holding its 6th Annual Thanks for the Trails 5k and Kids Fun Run the Saturday after Thanksgiving at Patton Park in Hamilton (November 25, 2023). The Kids' Run will begin at 9:30AM and the 5k will start at 10AM. Using a scenic and challenging course and offering great prizes, this will be an event for all! Super prizes for top finishers, and many other terrific prizes!
Katie Bourque will present a brief history on Ukrainian Easter Eggs and teach you how to create your own egg. All materials will be provided and you will go home with an egg that you made! This program is geared towards teens and adults, as you will be handling a raw egg, a lit candle, and permanent dyes. Please register online to save your spot - space is limited.
Join Ms. Julie of Early Childhood Partners CFCE to enjoy a story and fun activities that explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math (STEAM). Designed for children ages 2-8 years and their caregiver. This program will be held on Fridays January 13 - March 24 from 1:30 - 2:30pm (no group on 2/24). Science Fridays will take place in the Children's Program Room. REGISTRATION REQUIRED.
