Join Newburyport Choral Society under the direction of Dr. George Case, the NCS Spring Concert in May will offer audiences an exciting program featuring James Whitbourn’s powerful oratorio Annelies, the only musical setting based on the story of Anne Frank. The Newburyport Choral Society’s Spring Concert will feature British composer James Whitbourn’s powerful oratorio Annelies, the only musical setting based on the story of Anne Frank during the Holocaust. Commissioned and premiered in 2005 by the Jewish Music Institute, librettist Melanie Challenger has crafted Anne Frank’s story into a dramatic and emotional journey for the singers and the audience, alike.

Acting Out Productions present the classic favorite, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, adapted from the fantasy by Roald Dahl, written by Richard R. George. For the first time in a decade, Willy Wonka, the reclusive and eccentric chocolate maker, is opening his factory doors to the public - for the lucky five who find a Golden Ticket in their Wonka chocolate bars. When Charlie Bucket finds a dollar bill in the street, he must choose between helping his impoverished family or taking a chance on his dream.

Tompson Street Reservation in Gloucester, managed by Essex County Greenbelt Association, is full of rich and diverse wildlife habitat, as well as some spectacular views of Ipswich Bay. Come on this fun, full-day hike and learn about vernal pools and forest wildlife while we explore the glacial granite summit of Eagle Rock with other adventurous young adults.
