Jamboree-by-the-Sea

Little ones will have a blast sinign and dancing at the Jamboree by the Sea at the Manchester Massachusetts Public Library

The Manchester Public Library invites little ones and their caregivers to a fun session of song, rhyme storytelling and movement! Led by Lisa Cheney, five weeks of fun rhymes, songs, and movement for little ones on Thursday mornings at 10:30 AM! This program begins on January 12 and goes until February 9. For children up to age 4 and their caregivers. This program will be hosted at the Manchester Historical Society.

Excelsis Percussion Quartet

The Excelsis Percussion Quartet will perform at Salem State University.

From the four corners of the planet, the love of percussion and performance has brought together Marcelina Suchocka (Poland), Aya Kaminaguchi (Japan), Clara Warnaar (Canada-United States), and Mariana Ramirez (Mexico) as the Excelsis Percussion Quartet. These amazing women, hailing from four different countries and speaking four different languages, blend their talents to speak the universal language of rhythm with innovative perception. EXCELSIS invites the world into a celebration of percussion with its pageantry of marimbas, drums, cymbals, xylophones, and vibraphones.

Vanessa Trien and the Jumping Monkeys at the Cabot Theater in Beverly Massachusetts!

The Cabot Theatre in Beverly welcomes Vanessa Trien and the Jumping Monkeys as part of their Family Series concerts. Vanessa Trien has been performing music for kids and families since 2005, many of those years in collaboration with her lively folk/roots/pop band, the Jumping Monkeys.  She has three Parents' Choice award-winning CDs for kids and families and is currently working on her fourth album, due out this winter.  Vanessa packs concert halls, preschool fundraisers and outdoor venues with dancing kids and families.

This program will explore performance through exciting themes that will get your kids up and exercising their imaginations. Through creative movement, writing, theater games, props, set and costume, character development and analysis, we will explore the art of drama from the ground up! Starting with Greek Theater and ending with an exploration of Modern Day Musicals, students will get a sense of the work it takes to create a play from start to finish. This hands-on session will culminate in a short performance for family and friends created by your children!

Interactive Composition Workshop For Children

Join Music at Eden’s Edge and award winning composer Robert Honstein for a fun and engaging workshop on what it means to compose classical music!

 During the presentation Mr. Honstein will break down music into its simplest components and ask students to change these in fun and interesting ways, and then shape these elements into a piece of music.  The result is an insight on how a composer writes classical music. Children of all ages are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
