The Newbury Town Library invites kids to come and learn about electronics and basic circuits using the Arduino microcomputer and software. In this workshop for budding engineers or any young person wanting to learn about electronics, basic circuits will be explained and instructions given on how to build a simple robot.
Nothing to do after school on a Friday half day? Come to the Newbury Town Library for a movie! On Triton School District Half-Days (Professional Days), The Newbury Town Library will be showing movies at 1pm. Popcorn and water will be served. Movies will be rated G or PG, and posted before the movie day. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Please register to let us know you're coming :-)
Holiday Fairs at Essex Churches - The warmth of an old country church fair enlivens the town on a cold, winter’s day when all three of Essex’s downtown churches hold their annual Holiday Fair. All three churches are within walking distance with free on street parking. Gift bargains are served up along with homemade food and hot beverages. A dollar goes a long way at this event.

Join Russell Orchards for their annual strawberry fest as they celebrate the "first fruit". Favorite outdoor activities include: strawberry picking, hayrides, pony rides, shortcakes (with real whipped cream!), face painting, tie dye, cooking demo, wine tasting, and loads of other farm fresh goodies!
Come to Marini Farm Annual Strawberry Festival for their celebration of the strawberry harvest. June is Strawberry Month and Marini Farms' 12 acres of berries begins to produce some of the best tasting strawberries on the North Shore. Marini Farm Annual 2019 Strawberry Festival is a family fun event with activities for all ages including fields of strawberry picking, farm fresh strawberries and strawberry productsand of course fresh strawberry shortcake!
NBPT Cornhole and the Merrimack River Watershed Council present the 1st Annual "Save Our River Festival". This event will take place at the outdoor pavilion of the Newburyport Elks, and will feature a Giant Cornhole Tournament, BBQ, a cash bar, live music, an art show, games and more. This will be a family friendly event for all ages, and will help to raise money for the Merrimack River Watershed Council (MWRC).
Gather around the tree in front of Essex Town Hall to honor loved ones past and place your memorial ornament. This is always a meaningful and peaceful way to begin the holiday season. Registration forms for your memorial ornament can be found at Brookline Bank and Essex Town Hall and must be returned by November 28th to ensure that your ornament is ready. The NYS Youth Council presents the HALLOWEEN FESTIVAL. Kids in grades 6-8 can come o the Nock Gym for some some Halloween fune! Pay at the door $5 for Rec Center Members/ $10 for non-members. Costume contest, games, Dancing, Photo Booth, Food and More. The event is 6-9pm, participants can leave at any time, but no re-entry is allowed. The event is planned, organized and run by members of the Youth Council and Supervised by NYS Staff.
