Spirit Animals Workshop

Teens are invited to discover their Spirit Animals at the Beverly Library!

You do not have access to view this node invites teens to explore themselves and discover their Spirit Animals! Discover the animal lurking within you; then make it out of clay! The Zuni and other Pueblo Indians carve animals small enough to fit into their pockets. They believe these connect the humans who carry them to the spirit of the animals they represent. After an introductory discussion and brief demonstration, participants sculpt their own spirit animals which they can paint when dry and decorate with a “bundle” using small shells, feathers, beads, etc.

Create a family treasure by making your own Russian nested doll, matryoshka, with Russian artist and storyteller, Marina Forbes. While decorating the dolls, families can listen to the folk music from Russia and try the “matryoshka dance”. Adults, teens and children six and up are invited to this workshop on traditional Russian arts and crafts.

Cozy Crafts and Ice Cream Sundaes for Teens

Teens will use fleece to make winter crafts at the Abbot Library in Marblehead!

The Abbot Public Library invites teens are invited to warm up at the library by making fleece hats, hand warmers, and cozy cup holders. We provide the materials, you provide the creativity. Once you're nice and toasty, make your own ice cream sundae and dream that it is summer outside. No sign-ups necessary.
