Wildwood Camp
Wildwood is a multidimensional summer program for young people ages 9 to 17 focusing on active exploration of the natural world. Wildwood also offers a special 3-day mini-camp for ages 7-8, and a family camp offering safe, quiet and natural settings for a unique family experience. Owned and operated by Mass Audubon, Wildwood is a place where friendships are formed and respect for the environment is forged. IMADA Summer Arts Camp
IMADA is offering students an array of Summer programs focusing on the arts. Kids in grades 7-12 are invited to use time over the Summer to explore their artistic abilities be it sculpture, painting, film, music or digital and mixed media. Programs take place at Ipswich High School and other locations beyond the North Shore, so payattention to the specifics for the program you want. Music Asylum Summer Songwriting Sessions
The Music Asylum offers an annual Summer Songwriting Session. Learn the art of lyric writing, prosody, chord structures, harmony, song form, rhythm and groove. Students will leave having written at least one song for themselves, will collaborate with other students on song production, and will leave with a great sense of the complexities and joys of creating music.

Spring Egg Hunt
Support the Essex Youth Commission & bring the kids to the annual Spring Egg Hunt. This year the event will be held at Centennial Grove beginning at 1 pm. There will be three age categories - 0-5; 6-11 and 12+. There is no charge for the event as it is covered by generous candy donations by the people of Essex and the Essex Youth Commission. After the egg hunt, stop by Woodman's for a bite to eat!

Kids will get their hands dirty and dig into the science of soil at this April vacation session. Meet the critters of the sanctuary that call dirt home. Worms, millipedes, sow bugs, weasels, and voles are a few soil creatures that we will hope to see. Find out what it takes to make a garden grow, before preparing and planting your own take-home garden.

Adventure Day: Amazing Mammals
Kids explore the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary during April Vacation Week! Spring is a time when many baby animals are born. Join IRWS to learn about the plant-eating mammals that make their home at the sanctuary. We hope to catch glimpses of them, and certainly we'll see signs that they are living here. Participate in a mammal obstacle course. Build a beaver and muskrat lodge as a group, and track deer and other mammals in the fields and forests of the sanctuary.

Adventure Day: Water World
Wetlands are wonderful places full of fascinating animals and plants. Together we will discover the wetland habitats of the sanctuary. We'll hike to Hassocky Meadow and search for ducks, turtles, snakes, and more. We will continue our explorations at a real vernal pool and look for breeding salamanders, wood frogs, and their egg masses.
