Wildwood is a multidimensional summer program for young people ages 9 to 17 focusing on active exploration of the natural world. Wildwood also offers a special 3-day mini-camp for ages 7-8, and a family camp offering safe, quiet and natural settings for a unique family experience. Owned and operated by Mass Audubon, Wildwood is a place where friendships are formed and respect for the environment is forged. Campers arrive curious about nature and leave committed to the preservation of our natural resources.
One thing we’ve learned from our 50-year history as a premier, nature-oriented camp is that kids don’t want an “educational” summer. They want to swim and play and hear stories told around a campfire. At Wildwood, we do all that and much, much more. We venture into the great outdoors, examine stars and planets, plot courses and build shelters, catch fish, track animals, plant seeds, and paint pictures.
Wildwood offers 1- and 2-week sessions of overnight camp for children ages 9–14, plus a special, 3-day "mini" overnight camp experience for ages 7-8. At Wildwood, the environment is fun and noncompetitive: each camper is an important part of the community and is valued and respected for his or her interests and contributions.
Wildwood’s exciting Teen Adventure Trips are designed to immerse teens in the natural wonders of some of New England’s most beautiful areas and to provide fun, appropriate challenges for teens with all levels of outdoor experience. Trip groups are coed and consist of two leaders and five to eight campers. With a focus on learning about the environment, teens gain valuable experience and skills in hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, sea kayaking, biking, and low-impact camping.
Family Camp is fun for campers of all ages—from toddlers to grandparents! Wildwood has just what your family needs to enjoy some quality time together in a safe, quiet, and beautiful natural setting. Your family, up to eight people, sleeps in its own wooden tent, platform tent, rustic cabin, or yurt, complete with bunk beds and mattresses. You can even bring your own tent if you prefer!
