Stop by The Stevens-Coolidge Place from Monday, December 30 to Sunday, January 12 to get a jump start on those 2020 resolutions! Just inside the white gate at the front door of the the house, you’ll find a scavenger hunt list on the brick patio to get you started exploring all that 2020 has to offer. On the sheet, you’ll find a list of 15 common resolutions, turned into a call to action that will take you through the property. Borrow one and find what’s in store for you in the new year! This activity is suitable for all ages and is best completed in groups of 2 or more. Get outside and explore this winter!
First Day Hikes take place at nearby State Parks nationwide on New Year's Day. The annual hike originated more than 20 years ago at the Blue Hills Reservation in Massachusetts. The program was launched to promote both healthy lifestyles throughout the year and year-round recreation at state parks. On the North Shore, there will be First Day hikes at Bradley Palmer State Park and Breakheart Reservation.

Wenham Museum has a special New Year's Eve celebration planned just for kids and families! Join us at the Wenham Museum for our annual New Year’s Eve Countdown to Midnight for families. We will have lot of fun family activities with a Ginger-ale Toast at 12 Noon. Reservations are highly recommended. Everyone age one year old and up, needs a ticket for this program. The museum is only open for this event and will not be open for general museum visits.
Santa's Reindeer have done their job and now their relaxing in the Appleton Grass Rides! Grab your snow shoes, hiking boots or cross country skiis and get the family outside between Christmas and New Years to seek out our elusive herd of wooden reindeer on our reindeer quest.
Come join us for a day of activities and crafts for adults and kids to get you through the long winter, including star carving, log splitting, ditty bag kits, knitting, and a holiday shop! We will be celebrating the solstice in the Waterline Center with warm drinks and baked goods. Activities range from $2 to $20 each and come with a kit for you to do by the fire this winter!
Join us to celebrate the winter solstice by slowing down during this busy season and enjoying the silence of night as we walk quietly together. We will meet in the Old House (Farm Offices) to first create our own lantern. Then experience a traditional spiral walk, light up the darkest night of the year with your lantern, and send off a wish as we welcome the returning of the light. Best for adults & older children. Cookies and cocoa will be available while we decorate our lanterns. Please dress to be outside.

Join the specialists of Wingmasters for a live birds of prey demonstration at Sawyer Free library during the Middle Street Walk 2019! Birds of prey are also known as raptors, and they are hunting birds characterized by hooked beaks and powerful grabbing feet armed with sharp talons (the word raptor comes from a Latin word that means "to seize"). Raptors can also boast the best eyesight and the sharpest hearing in the animal kingdom. Raptors include hawks, falcons and owls. This program is for ages 6 & up. This live presentation introduces 5 live birds of prey, all native to New England! All audience members must be seated in chairs, maximum capacity is 70 people. For more info, contact Christy Rosso.
Sawyer Free Library invites kids and families to celebrate the Holidays at a Harry Potter themed party during the Middle Street Walk 2019! Come for a jolly journey around the Wizarding World! It will be a Happy Holiday at Hogsmeade as we sample butterbeer, as well as many more activities such as wand-making, the sorting hat, a photo booth, family trivia, crafts, and more! Come celebrate Harry Potter with us 11-2 on all 3 floors of the library.
