Making Stuff Workshop at CMNH

CMNH hosts a day long workshop inpsired by the PBS series 'Making Stuff'

The Children's Museum of New Hampshire want you to make stuff! With inspiration and materials from PBS NOVA's "Making Stuff" series, we're setting up our Studio space for kids to get creative. Visitors are invited to drop in anytime to build with recycled materials, create cool artwork, test out ideas and have fun using their imaginations. What will your child want to make to take home?

Summer Camp at Joppa Flats

Mass Audubon full and half day programs for kids ages 6-12 at Joppa Flats Center

Joppa Flats Summer Camp is the perfect place for youth with an interest in and curiosity about the world around them. Their weekly summer themes offer a wide range of topics – everything from oceans to birds to nature art – as well as opportunities for children to experience hands-on science, discuss reasons “why” and “how” things happen, handle live animals, explore the outdoors, and create art projects to take home. Joppa Flats programs stress environmental awareness, having fun, and learning, both indoors and out. Flats Summer Camp is the perfect place for youth ages 6 to 12 with an interest in and curiosity about the world around them.

Manchester Sailing Association

The Manchester Sailing Association teaches kids aged 8 and up how to sail.

The Manchester Sailing Association offers sailing lessons for children and adults of all ability levels. MSA is a community sailing program open to both residents and non-residents of Manchester. The program takes place at scenic Tuck's Point and on the docks of the Manchester Yacht Club, with easy access to the Manchester Harbor and surrounding waters.

Lemberg Summer Camp

Lemberg Summer Camp  is very much a continuation of our play-based, educationally enriching school year program with a little water play and living outdoors thrown in. Lemberg Hall is set in the heart of the beautiful Brandeis University campus, far from the busy streets of Waltham.

Gloucester Stage Summer Youth Acting Workshops

Gloucester Stage Youth Acting Workshops starts the Summer Session of Acting Workshops for children ages 6 to 18 on Friday, July 12. The six week Youth Acting Workshop Summer Session, meets on Fridays for two hours per week from July 12 - August 16 and the students are divided in classes according to age. Class size is limited for all classes and registration is on a first come basis.

This week's program will focus on strange animal partners in nature like sharks and fish, hermit crabs and anemones and even chipmunks and weasels! We’ve got great activities planned like “Who’s Your Partner?” and “Make a Mad Lib!” and our craft is a take home sea creature photo holder! We’ve got some live marine life, great videos and lots of science.

In this week's program, kids will learn about naturally-occurring patterns and talk about some of nature's best designers and architects!  Kids will learn about how bees achieve the perfect hexagons found in their honey combs, how much structural design goes into a beaver dam and how animals and other creatures use naturally occurring patterns found throughout our natural environment. Our afternoon starts off with self-guided activities, challenges, or puzzles that lead us to our topic for the day.
