Using sweep nets and hand lenses, we'll observe butterflies in the gardens and fields of the sanctuary. Become a butterfly as we learn about the life cycles of these fluttering marvels.
Summers are a blast at Eurostoves! Our summer kids classes run Monday through Friday (with the exception of July 4th) from 10AM-1PM. You can sign up for one or two classes, the whole week, or several weeks. Each week is a different theme and feature completely new menus for 2016. Classes are intended for kids and teens ages 8 and up. All classes are taught in our spacious, state of the art teaching kitchen and are led by professional chef-instructors. All classes conclude with a feast! Hope to see you this summer!

Eurostoves - The Culinary Centre offers all different variety of kids classes such as 2 Day Italian Workshop or International Desserts. Sign up online before all the classes are filled. The kids have a blast and bring home a new skill that they will use and enjoy for a lifetime!
Salamanders are often found in dark, wet places such as under a rock or log in the soil, while their eggs can be found in vernal pools. We will go for a walk, looking under rocks and logs for salamanders, and visit a vernal pool to discover where they lay their eggs each spring. Each participant will create a clay salamander to take home.

Eurostoves is offering kids and teens the unique chance to learn to cook at the elbow of a professional chef in this hands-on summer series of classes. We will begin with how to use a knife safely and effectively and move on to key techniques including blanching, sauteing, searing, roasting, braising, baking, and grilling. Working safely and efficiently in the kitchen will be a continuous theme as will cooking creatively and having fun! Sign up for a day, a couple of days or for the whole week. Eco-art programs programs combine nature exploration and a craft project. Come learn how different birds build their nests and what natural materials they use. We will take a hike to look for nests and collect materials to make our own birds' nests.
Wee Farmers is designed for our 3-4 year old friends who want to explore the farm, meet our animals, and get a taste of what Farm Camp is like at Appleton! Kids will get to dig into life on the farm and lend a helping hand brushing our goats, feeding our bunnies, singing songs, and taste testing in the education garden! Learn about how we grow our vegetables and see how good your senses are with Harvest Blanket. Tour the Cheese Kitchen and learn how sunshine helps to makes our delicious milk. We’ll start our morning with a quick craft and song before venturing out for some farm discovery and nature exploration. This program is perfect for younger siblings who have older siblings signed up for the Appleton Farm Camp and want to join in the fun too!
