The holidays are just around the corner, and soon you’ll be planning your family’s holiday feasts. Join us and learn how to serve up a hearty holiday dinner that your family with want you to recreate year after year! Some possible offerings include: Curried Pumpkin Soup, Crown Roast of Pork with Sausage Walnut Stuffing & Bacon-Laced Gravy, Sautéed Apple Slices with Spiced Sweet Potato Purée, and Raspberry Almond Torte.

Get a jump start on your weekend with the Second Friday Program at the MIT Museum! Second Friday Programs are oriented for open exploration with opportunities to attend performances, demonstrations, and lectures through out the museum galleries. November's 2013's Second Friday will focus on food science. Featuring Kenji López-Alt, Chief Creative Officer of Seriouseats.com and members of Clover Food Lab.

Families will enjoy festive music, hands-on activities, and traditional snacks as they learn about the customs that make this a joyful celebration. Create masks and decorations for the special altar. Leave a message for departed loved ones, decorate and take home a sugar skull (extra fee), pose for pictures in front of the calavera (skeleton) backdrop, and watch woodcarving from Oaxaca.
