Boston String Academy at Shalin Liu Performing Arts Center. Visit Rockport Massachusetts, Cape Ann, North of Boston.

Boston String Academy (BSA) is a non-profit organization, inspired by the Venezuelan El Sistema model which believes in music as a vehicle for social change. We provide rigorous string instrument instruction to children in under-served communities, laying a solid musical foundation and creating a path for young people to become sensitive, responsible, and creative human beings.  Our program makes mastery of a string instrument reachable by eliminating obstacles that stand in an inner-city family’s way.

Looking for things to do during your April Vacation on the North Shore? Peabody Essex Museum has a fabulous line-up of fun activities, performances, and tours for kids and families. Celebrate the 20th anniversary of the cultural exchange project that brought Yin Yu Tang to Peabody Essex Museum !

For this school vacation week, travel across the world without leaving Salem by learning traditional Chinese paper cutting with local guest artist Zhonghe (Elena) Li on Monday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons. Join us for film screenings in Morse Auditorium on Friday, and challenge yourself all three days with a museum-wide dragon scavenger hunt!

Cape Ann Symphony Fantrasies and Mythology Concert in Manchester Massachusetts

Please join  the Cape Ann Symphony Woodwind Quintet and pianist Kathleen Forgac, presenting musical fantasies and works inspired by myths, legends and lore. This program will explore the magical sounds of the woodwind quintet and then showcase each of the instruments alone featuring works by Nielson, Poulenc, Mouquet, Debussy and others.

Project STEP celebrates its 40-plus years of providing exceptional classical music training for young musicians of color. Project STEP is a national award-winning music program that offers the very best classical music education for young students in Boston and surrounding areas. Not only does Project STEP’s programs harbor a creative and safe learning environment, they advocate for a future where the classical music profession reflects the racial and ethnic diversities of our surrounding communities. Project STEP amplifies the stories and voices of young musicians of color, providing space within the greater Boston community for their talent to be recognized. Project STEP students inspire us all to be better and to do more, and your support is the catalyst for their success.

Boston City Singers at Shalin Liu

The Boston City Singers will perform a FREE Concert at the Shalin Liu Center for Performing Arts in Rockport Massachusetts.

Boston City Singers serves 500 extraordinary singers aged 4 – 18 in 15 different programs, most of whom live in the Boston’s urban neighborhoods. Our music and creative youth development programs are located in Dorchester, Jamaica Plain and North Cambridge. Admission is need-blind. Tuition is based on a sliding scale and no child is denied access to our programs for lack of family resources.
