Breakheart Reservation
Open year-round, dawn to dusk. Breakheart Reservation is a 640-acre hardwood forest with jagged, rocky outcroppings, two fresh-water lakes, and a rambling section of the Saugus River. Seven rocky hills, over 200 feet high, provide vistas of Boston, southern New Hampshire and central Massachusetts. An extensive trail system through the woodlands guides visitors to various areas of the reservation. Fishing in Silver and Pearce Lakes, hiking the trails and birdwatching by the Saugus River are popular year-round activities.

This is a small loop trail that passes a swampland and a a hill where huge boulders were deposted on end when the glaciers of the last ice age receded.
Appleton Farms Milk Operation is Now Open!
You just can't beat a cold bottle of milk from the local farm! Appleton Farms opened their retail shop at the farm designed to sell milk and other dairy products from their grass fed Jersey Cows! This is a big step for Appleton Farms and is a huge opportunity for North Shore families who are looking for locally produced food.

Come check out our new Learning and Discovery Center or hike our newest addition to our trail map - the Children's Rocky Woodland! There are plenty of family oriented events, a new Quest treasure hunt, and our trails are always open for you to come and explore on your own.

Hamlin Reservation
This former coastal farmland now welcomes visitors to a broad salt marsh and a dike path that leads to a loop trail around Eagle Island. If you visit during hunting season, please make sure that you wear bright colors and a bell! Hunting is permitted on this site during the Fall.
