Technology is all around us and is changing constantly. How can parents and teachers guide children to use digital technology—apps, social media, the Internet—safely, responsibly, and wisely?
Please join Diana Graber, founder of Cyberwise and Cyber Civics, to get helpful tips and actionable strategies to help you decide when, and how, to integrate digital technology in a thoughtful and age-appropriate way, at home and at school.
CyberCivics was developed by a researcher and parent who saw the need after a social media "incident" in the eighth grade at her daughter's Waldorf charter school. The curriculum is now being used by schools throughout the U.S., and internationally. Waldorf School at Moraine Farm has begun using the Cyber Civics Curriculum in middle school this year.
Learn more about a 'Slow Tech' approach to media use and experience "hands on" lessons from Cyber Civics, the in-school digital citizenship and literacy program that helps students become ethical, thoughtful, and competent digital citizens.
We are also offering a workshop, Digital Citizenship, Digital Literacy: Cyber Civics for the Middle School on Saturday, January 28 from 9am to 3pm.
This lecture is designed for parents, educators, and any interested adult.
