Unicorns, giants and monsters, oh my! This story and craft program will focus on a different mythical creature each week. Please register individually for each week you plan to attend. Registration for first two weeks will start June 24, later dates will open two weeks before each program.
The Hale Farm is hosting a community reading event of Frederick Douglass's famous speech titled "What to the American Slave is the Fourth of July?" The event is part of the Reading Frederick Douglass Together initiative and will feature Nathan Richardson portraying Frederick Douglass. The event is a collaborative effort involving the City of Beverly, North Shore NAACP, Salem United, Waring School, and other organizations. Special guest speakers will also be present.
The Essex County Greenbelt Association welcomes you to join them at the Book Shop of Beverly Farms to celebrate Earth Day! Pick up a copy of Greenbelt's Bring Along Family Nature Guide featuring 15 activity filled hikes on the North shore. There will also be hands on activities for kids in the store.
Children in grades 1-3 are invited to explore painting materials and styles. The emphasis will be on having fun with the process, and painting experience is not required. Family Adventures in Reading brings together children and adults to enjoy entertaining and thought-provoking presentations of outstanding picture books. Professional Storyteller Alicia Quintano will lead families as they share and reflect on their responses to the stories that explore character-building concepts such as courage, fairness, and persistence. Each 90-minute session includes an engaging, interactive presentation and a related craft program. The session concludes with an introduction to a library service and socializing over light refreshments. The books draw on a variety of cultural traditions including those that predominate in the neighborhoods where the program is offered.
All ages are welcome to join Miss Shannon for an evening of stories, songs, dances and more! Miss Shannon will be wearing her pajamas. You can wear yours, too! This is a drop-in program. No registration required.
