Medicine in Colonial Salem - Witch House

Learn about colonial medecine at the Witch House in Salem Massachusetts as part of Trails and Sails!

Join us at the Witch House and Pioneer Village for a look at medicinal curiosities from the 17th century. At the Corwin House (a.k.a. the Witch House) we will share an exhibit featuring some of the more startling remedies our New England settlers trusted such as “snail water” and “skull moss”. The exhibit will be included in admission and free to Trails and Sails attendees each day of the festival.

Montserrat College of Art, Bridge Street Neck Neighborhood Association (BSNNA) & other City folk from Salem & Beverly are planning a fun, family-friendly evening block party as part of Montserrat’s week long Arts Festival on both sides of the Salem-Beverly Bridge. BSNNA will be lighting up the park while Montserrat lights up the bridge! Free admission!

An afternoon of family fun - The American Harvest and Music Festival at Spencer Peirce Little Farm in Newbury Massachusetts!

Enjoy a day of traditional music, baseball, and farm activities featuring New Orleans brass band, bluegrass, rock, funk, jazz, and beyond.! Watch Vintage Base Ball played by 1861 rules. See tractors and other farm equipment spanning the last eighty years. Try your hand at corn husking and win prizes at the pie-eating contest.

Millbrook Meadow Grand Reopening

Grand Reopening of Millbrook Meadow in Rockport Massachusetts!

Rockport’s Millbrook Meadow and Mill Pond will have a “Grand Re-Opening” Saturday (August 17) with a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. The ceremony will be held midway through the park. There’ll be popcorn, strolling miniature horses, Millbrook Meadow souvenir bandanas, nature explainers, music, jugglers, and Rockport’s annual Rubber Duck Race.
