From the four corners of the planet, the love of percussion and performance has brought together Marcelina Suchocka (Poland), Aya Kaminaguchi (Japan), Clara Warnaar (Canada-United States), and Mariana Ramirez (Mexico) as the Excelsis Percussion Quartet. These amazing women, hailing from four different countries and speaking four different languages, blend their talents to speak the universal language of rhythm with innovative perception. EXCELSIS invites the world into a celebration of percussion with its pageantry of marimbas, drums, cymbals, xylophones, and vibraphones.
Argus Quartet is dedicated to reinvigorating the audience-performer relationship through innovative concerts and diverse repertoire – connecting with and building up a community of engaged listeners is at the core of the quartet’s mission. Free, no tickets required.
Jazz is alive and kicking up its heels in Ipswich when the whole town is invited to participate in an evening of big band swing music and dance at the Dolan Performing Arts Center. Ipswich Music Art and Drama Association has arranged with Beantown Swing, the premier swing orchestra on the north shore, to spend a day giving jazz master classes at the high school, followed by a joint concert in the evening. This will be more than just a concert! The orchestra pit will be turned into a dance floor for the evening while the band plays on the stage above.

Step back in time and be inspired by the nightscape at a 17th century saltwater farm. Stroll through the house, lit by candlelight, and imagine life in colonial days. This Open House is offered in conjunction with Ipswich is First...Period, a community celebration of 17th century architecture, and an homage to hearth, home and the celebration of Thanksgiving. A quartet will fill the halls with period music.
Composer and musician Robert Bradshaw conducts a string trio in this series of compositions inspired by Aesop’s Fables. The Saturday Showcase series spotlights the performing arts with content related to the art, history and culture of Cape Ann. Thematic presentations are often supplemented with drop-in art and history activities in the CAM Activity Center. Free and open to the public. The Trustees of Reservations' Appleton Farms in Ipswich Massachusetts will host Graze the North Shore, a food festival in partnership with local restaurants, chefs, brewers, vintners and food makers. As one of the oldest continually operating farms in the country, Appleton is proud to be a part of a sustainable community of food growers and artisans on the North Shore of Massachusetts. This event will help raise awareness of the locavore movement and celebrate the bounty of delicious food being grown, raised, and served in this corner of the state. This event is 21+.
