As part of COASTSWEEP 2019, volunteers are encouraged to come to Gloucester to help in the statewide effort to keep our coastline clean along the Annisquam River. Trash collected will be measured and analyzed, and the data will be sent to Washington DC to aid the government in creating legislation to minimize trash in our oceans! This specific cleanup is coordinated by Jamie Mathison and the Gloucester Clean City Commission.

After-school activities include lending a hand with conservation work, eco-splorations, journeying as a waterdrop from land to sea, uncovering secret tales, journaling, mapping/orienteering, and hiking our forest, wetlands, and mountainsides. For kids ages 9-11.
SalemRecycles is hosting their annual textile recycling event! Clean out your closets the green way - drop off USABLE and UNUSABLE textiles at SalemRecycles' fifth annual Clothing and Textile Recycling Drive. Look for the Goodwill truck in Riley Plaza (212 Washington Street, Salem). Usable items will be sold in Goodwill stores; unusable items will be recycled into new products.

Concerned MA residents will gather for the "Festival for Our Future: Envisioning a Clean Energy Future for the North Shore and Beyond" on Derby Wharf in Salem Massachusetts! The first hour will include a rally highlighting the harms that the proposed natural gas plant in Salem would impose on both the local community and the climate.
SalemRecycles is hosting their semi-annual book and media swap. If you have items to drop off [videos, CDs, DVDs and books], you may do so on Saturday when you arrive or the Friday before between 5:30-7 pm. Volunteers will be available to help unload. No swap is needed in order to attend; participants can choose to donate materials, take materials or do both.
