Family Movie Day at Cape Ann Community Cinema featuring 'Into the Spiderverse' and 'Wreck It Ralph 2'

Gloucester Meetinghouse Foundation hosts a fun day of film and community fun for families at Cape Ann Community Cinema! It opens with refreshments at 10:00am and runs to 4:00pm. The event features two great movies plus games, prizes, face-painting, presentations, making indoor snowmen from white socks (bring extras!) and a pizza lunch. Please note this event is free for kids (best for ages 6-12) and their parents/guardians, thanks to the generosity of our Series Sponsors.

When Margaret, a Canadian, faces deportation for an expired visa, she hatches a scheme to marry Andrew. Andrew had plans to fly home for the weekend for his grandma's 90th, so Margaret goes with him - to Sitka, Alaska. Tensions between dad and Andrew, an ex-girlfriend, Andrew's dislike of Margaret, and her past, color the next few days, with the INS ready to charge Andrew with fraud and deport Margaret.  This movie stars Sandra Bullock, Ryan Reynolds, and Betty White.

Join the Newburyport YWCA for screening of Dawnland, as part of their Martin Luther King Day observances. At our annual Martin Luther King, Jr. event we will be screening the film Dawnland, “a documentary about cultural survival and stolen children: the first truth and reconciliation commission for Native Americans.” Following the screening there will be a question and answer period with Mishy Lesser, Learning Director for the Upstanding Project. A light dinner and dessert will be served.
