Appleton Farms

Appleton Farms in Ipswich, Ma is America’s oldest continuously operating farm.

This 658 acre estate offers rolling grasslands, grazing livestock, stone walls, and historic farm buildings are part of this pastoral landscape – a rare glimpse into New England’s agricultural past. A gift of Colonel Francis R. Appleton, Jr., and his wife Joan, Appleton Farms is one of the oldest continuously operating farms in the country, established and maintained by nine generations of the Appleton family. Miles of trails wind through area of grassy field, farm land and forest, and are perfect for walking and horseback riding.

Appleton Farms Dairy Shares Available!

Dairy shares are now available through Appleton Farms in Ipswich, MA!

The The Trustees of Reservations is pleased to announce the launch of a new Dairy Share Program at Appleton Farms in Ipswich, MA. For the first time since Appleton Farms began milking cows at the farm over ten years ago, the public will be able to purchase a Full or Half Dairy Share with Appleton Farms’ very own farmstead cheese, yogurt, and milk!

The Trustees of Reservations have more than 120 year-round staff, located at almost 100 locations across Massachusetts. We have three main campuses: Moose Hill Farm in Sharon, Long Hill in Beverly, and the Doyle Conservation Center in Leominster.

The Long Hill Flower Fields need volunteers to help with the PYO flower programs and to staff their booth at the Beverly Farmers' Market. Appleton Farms to Start Selling Milk to the Public!

Appleton Farms' grass fed dairy herd produces the finest milk available locally.

You just can't beat a cold bottle of milk from the local farm! Appleton Farms announced today that they have broken ground for a retail shop at the farm where they will sell milk and other dairy products from their grass fed Jersey Cows!   This is a big step for Appleton Farms and is a huge opportunity for North Shore families who are looking for locally produced food.
