Make your own SUP at this Maritime Gloucester Workshop!
First seen in Hawaii, SUP boards have exploded in popularity. There are no other SUP boards in the world that are easier for a first-time boatbuilder. Friend of Maritime Gloucester, Dick Zimmermann, leads this build-your-own 5-week workshop using the Chesapeake Light Craft's kit for the 12'6" stand up board.   Starting from a computer-cut Chesapeake Light Craft kit, you’ll build your wooden Kaholo stitch-and-glue style. plywood panels are joined to form the board’s shape, and the interior reinforced with a grid of aircraft-like frames for stiffness and light weight. Epoxy and fiberglass add strength and durability. This workshop is a perfect partner project. Workshop takes place in Maritime Gloucester's Boat House.
