Beverly Electronics Recycling Extravaganza

Recycle your old electronics and help the Beverly High School Music Department

Beverly Recycles hosts an electronics recycling extravaganza on May 5th. Open to everyone! This is an excellent opportunity to conveniently recycle computers, TVs, air conditioners, and all other electronics. Pretty much anything with a plug! Reasonable rates, and many items accepted for free! Proceeds benefit Beverly High School Athletics and the Beverly Recycles Education Fund. The Greater Newburyport Children’s Chorus will be taking over the Firehouse Stage for one spectacular night featuring showtunes from well-loved and new Broadway shows!  The evening will feature ensemble performances by our 2 choirs, the GNCC and the GNCC Juniors, along with some featured soloists, duets and small ensembles. Some of the songs scheduled for the evening include a rousing rendition of “Consider Yourself” from Oliver! and a poignant version of “Waving through a Window” from the Grammy winning new musical Dear Evan Hansen.

Methuen Ballet Ensemble will interpret the classic story of Sleeping Beauty at the Firehouse Center for the arts in Newburyport

Methuen Ballet Ensemble will present their interpretation of Sleeping Beauty, a tale of a young princess who cucceumbs to black magic, and the prince who saved her. As the ballet begins, the baby Princess Aurora has just been christened and the King and Queen have declared a grand celebration. Six fairies have been invited to the celebration to bestow gifts of virtue upon the child. The evil Carabosse, furious that she was not invited to the celebration, storms in and curses the baby!

Locally grown and milled grains are popping up everywhere and their culinary popularity continues to grow. We’ll explore many different varieties of grains along with their flavor & texture profiles, nutritional benefits, and how to handle them in the kitchen. We’ll prepare unique recipes incorporating some of these grains, and enjoy a wonderful dinner at the end of the evening. Class includes hands-on cooking with professional chef instruction and printed recipes. BYBO beer & wine allowed.

When school is closed, Taste Buds Kitchen is open! A new and unique menu is offered each week. Register for a few weeks or even a single day.

Every day kids make two to three recipes – always one savory and one sweet – while whipping up batches of fun. Younger chefs focus on the basics along with kitchen games while the older camps tackle advanced techniques and culinary challenges. Professional Culinary Instructors and Kid Experts lead the way for a camp your budding chef won’t soon forget! A TBK apron is included for each full-week camper as well as flexible drop-off from 8:30-9:00am for a small fee.
