Get a jump start on your weekend with the Second Friday Program at the MIT Museum! Second Friday Programs are oriented for open exploration with opportunities to attend performances, demonstrations, and lectures through out the museum galleries. November's 2013's Second Friday will focus on food science. Featuring Kenji López-Alt, Chief Creative Officer of Seriouseats.com and members of Clover Food Lab.

Peabody Museum at Harvard celebrates the Day of the Dead! Bring the family for a

Families will enjoy festive music, hands-on activities, and traditional snacks as they learn about the customs that make this a joyful celebration. Create masks and decorations for the special altar. Leave a message for departed loved ones, decorate and take home a sugar skull (extra fee), pose for pictures in front of the calavera (skeleton) backdrop, and watch woodcarving from Oaxaca.

Food Day at Sidekim Foods

Celebrate Food Day with Sidekim Foods in Lynn Massachusetts!

Sidekim Foods in Lynn will host a free Food Day event. They will have a variety of food demonstrations with a special focus of teaching children how to cook. Children will be able to bring out their inner chef, get their hands dirty, and become familiar with different fresh ingredients by helping prepare a healthy meal. Activities for kids of all ages!

Mayor's Halloween Health Fair

The Mayor's Health Fair has trick or treating and lots of fun activities!

Newburport Mayor Holaday and the City Health Department invite the community to attend the Mayor’s Haunted Health & Wellness Fair and Flu Clinic on Saturday, October 26 from 10 am – 1 pm at City Hall. This year’s Fair offers Halloween Fun with a Healthy Focus. In addition to the FREE Flu Clinic, FREE Health Screening and a variety of informational displays from local health and wellness organizations, there will be a Children’s Costume Parade at 10:30 a.m. and a Costumed-Pet Parade at noon around Brown Square!

The GAAC invites you to discover the the world of Astronomy on Cape Ann!

The Gloucester Area Astronomy Club celebrates their 10th Anniversary in October 2013! Come discover the wonder of the night sky on Cape Ann, and celebrate this milestone occasion! The evening will begin at 8:00 pm, and will feature a series of quick 10 minute talks by a parade of speakers, on topics ranging from trans-neptunian objects to the ten best things to see on the moon, from a selection of favorite astrophotos to the presence of water in the cosmos.
