The Museum of Fine Arts will honor Memorial Day with an Open House and will waive all admission fees. Visitors can enjoy complimentary admission to the MFA's galleries, family activities and performances. This year, the MFA offers free admission - including access to the special exhibition “Hokusai: Inspiration and Influence” - for Massachusetts residents. Celebrate the holiday with art and community!
Wenham Massachusetts Memorial Day Services commence with and a Decoration of the Cheeseman Memorial in Pingree Park. The Wenham Memorial Day Parade kicks off at the American Legion building.The parade forms at American Legion building (Wenham COA and Buker School) starting at 12:30 p.m. Parade starts at 1 p.m. with stops at the Veterans Memorial Monument, the Civil War Memorial, and the Wenham Town Cemetery on Main Street.
The Amesbury Memorial Day Ceremonies is organized by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2016 and will start at 9:00 AM at Alliance Park where a wreath will be thrown into the Merrimac River in memory of deceased Marines and Sailors. From there veterans will gather and place wreaths at the VFW Cemetery plot in Union Cemetery, then to the Amesbury Doughboy and Justin Park, and then to the Polish War Memorial on Market Street.
Marblehead's Memorial Day activities start at at Old Town House, starting at 8 a.m. An hour later at 9 a.m., the main parade will begin at Pleasant Street, continuing on to Memorial Park before turning left on Spring to Elm Street. The parade will then take a left off of Elm Street to Cressey, and merge onto Green, taking a left on Turner Road before concluding at Waterside Cemetery.
The Danvers Memorial Day parade begins at Town Hall at 9 a.m. sharp, and will follow the traditional route of previous years - down Sylvan Street, through downtown and back to Town Hall. Traditional stops and placement of wreaths will occur at the Danvers Square Memorial Flagpole, the Town Hall Memorials and Porter’s Burial Ground on High St. All Danvers veterans are invited to participate in the parade in their civilian capacity, with a handicapped accessible trolley provided for those who are unable to march.

Memorial Day starts with a small ceremony at American Legion Lot at 8:45 Locust Grove Cemetery Lanesville. The parade leaves at 10:00am sharp from American Legion Hall Beach st. to Beech Grove cemetery, the parade will reform and proceed down Pleasant Street to Mount Pleasant St. to Harvey Park where the parade will pause for a brief ceremonial laying of a wreath in Harvey Park and back to White Wharf then American Legion Hall.
Hamilton’s American Legion A.P. Gardner Post 194 host the annual parade. Marchers will assemble and step off the parade from Town Hall to the Soldiers Monument, then to Hamilton Cemetery for a short ceremony. The parade continues to Town Hall, the Community House, Patton Park, and ends at the Legion Post with a reading of deceased members/veterans.
The Veterans Posts of Ipswich will host a ceremony at the Veterans Memorial on Monday, May 27, 2024 in honor of Memorial Day. This event is in lieu of the traditional parade as our members are increasingly unable to participate due to age and infirmity.
