The NTL's own Kati Bourque will present a brief history on Ukrainian Easter Eggs and teach you how to create your own egg. All materials will be provided and you will go home with an egg that you made! This program is geared towards teens and adults, as you will be handling a raw egg, a lit candle, and permanent dyes. What does Clara’s magical journey have to teach us? How many nuts would a nutcracker crack if a nutcracker could crack nuts? Let’s find out! Come with us as panto and ballet collide in a delicious mix of sugar plums and pies-in-the-face, dance and comedy, fairies and snowballs, in A Nutcracker Panto!
Get into the Halloween spirit! Examine live creepy crawlies, enjoy (semi) spooky attractions, and take home creative crafts. For ages 7 and up, explore a “crime scene” and perform a series of forensic investigations (e.g., soil sample comparisons, water sampling, chromatography, pH tests, and track identification) to solve the mystery and pinpoint the culprit. For ages 2 to 6, there will be stories and songs, silly and festive crafts, and a kooky treasure hunt. Family presentations will be offered at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. Fly in on your broom for an hour or stay all day for some fun pre-Halloween family time!
Every body can do it... Join us for a fun start to Tri season. Celebrate the 10th annual ywca tri in partnership with the Tough Warrior Princesses and the North of Boston Cancer Resource. This is a unique, mostly indoor event featuring a 10-minute swim in our indoor lap pool, a 25-minute cycle on a state of the art spin bike, and a 1.5 mile run outdoors on the picturesque Clipper City Rail Trail. Create a team of friends or family! One biker, one swimmer, one runner or any combination. Space is limited!
Splish Splash Science is an active, fun, program where you and your child will learn all about water properties such as sinking, floating, surface tension, buoyancy, and waterproofing. Using fun props and lots of hands on science, we’ll look at everything from ducks to scuba divers and how water works!

Local artist, storyteller and teacher Ann McCrea will help kids use modeling clay to sculpt a rabbit or coyote! CLAY♦WORKS combines the magic of storytelling with clay sculpting. The 70-minute CLAY•WORKS program teaches kids from 1st-6th grade [ages 5-11]. Sitting in a circle on the floor, Ann tells a story which evokes their interest and creativity.
