Learn about water and the scientific principles behind it.

Splish Splash Science is an active, fun, program where you and your child will learn all about water properties such as sinking, floating, surface tension, buoyancy, and waterproofing. Using fun props and lots of hands on science, we’ll look at everything from ducks to scuba divers and how water works!

When it's time to go home, you'll receive coloring pages, song lyrics, vocabulary, a fun fact sheet, and a suggested reading list via email.

We will learn how the river can “change” rocks, we’ll play river bingo, and sing a few river songs. We’ll make a fun take-home fishing pole craft, and we’ll enjoy a “fishy” snack!

Joppa Flats Education Center offers April vacation programs offer a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities - keeping minds active and hands busy during school break! Come all day or as your schedule allows! This Session will focus on the habitats and creatures of vernal pools and ponds. Today we'll explore the life and wonder that you can find in ponds and pools!

Miss Lisa of the Joppa Flats Education Center visits Amesbury Public Library each month for a 1 hour program focused on pre-schoolers! Participants will be engaged, excited, and learning about all kinds of things in nature. Each program is an hour long and includes hands-on activities, group role play, and fun take homes. Celebrate 100 years of Mass Audubon at Joppa Flats Education Center in Newburyport!

Join Joppa Flats Education Center on the 100th day of the year to celebrate 100 years of Mass Audubon Wildlife Sanctuaries! Enjoy free admission, "ask a naturalist" opportunities, the occasional guided walk around our grounds and free cake! Back in 1916, the Moose Hill Bird Sanctuary was established in Sharon when Dr. George W. Field offered his estate to Mass Audubon to attract birds and people interested in birds. Fast forward to 2016 and there are 56 wildlife sanctuaries to explore in Massachusetts!
