Every summer, community members come together at Dane Street Beach in Beverly for a fun, family-friendly 5K race to support Salem Sound Coastwatch. Whether you’re running, walking, or cheering from the sidelines, this event is a great way to enjoy the coast and help protect it at the same time.
The annual Touch-a-Truck Event is a unique, interactive, one-day event held in Beverly Massachusetts during National Public Works Week. This event allows children to see, touch and explore their favorite big trucks and vehicles as well as meet the personnel who protect, serve and build the Beverly community.
Warrior Weekend is a two day event that pays tribute to veterans through demonstrations and other events for the community. There will be all kinds of military hardware on site including tanks! Activities will include Rainforest Reptiles, martial arts demonstrations, reenactors, living history demonstration, touch-a-truck, food vendors and more!

Support the fight against lung cancer and join us for our 10th annual LUNGSTRONG LIVE & VIRTUAL 5K Run & 1.5mi Walk! This family-friendly event gives 100% of race proceeds and donations to Mass General Cancer Center for Thoracic Cancer Research under the direction of Dr. Justin Gainor. MGH is deeply committed to rapidly bringing advances to their patients and is making remarkable progress in identifying genetic mutations and developing targeted therapies for lung cancer. Your participation will help make a difference in the lives of patients today and it is with much optimism that one day lung cancer will be a treatable disease and no longer fatal.
Our annual Friends' Spring Book Sale takes place daily at the main library from Saturday, Saturday May 10 through May 17. The sale will be open daily during regular library hours: Mon.-Thurs., 9AM-9PM; Fri. & Sat., 9AM-5PM. Paperbacks are $1, hardcovers $2, and all children's books are .50. Engage your curious budding gardener or adventurer in our new Little Sprouts in the Garden series, a monthly themed program to connect your child with the natural world around us. As the snow begins to melt with spring around the corner, it may be too cold for fresh flowers or green grass in the gardens! In the meantime, bring some green life inside your house with a terrarium workshop to create a miniature natural world! Participants will learn about plant care and life cycle basics and leave with a mini terrarium of their own. Recommended for ages 6-10 but all are welcome. An adult must attend but there is no additional charge.
