Spring is a time of renewal and growth. After-school activities include lending a hand with conservation work, eco-splorations, journeying as a waterdrop from land to sea, uncovering secret tales, journaling, mapping/orienteering, and hiking our forest, wetlands, and mountainsides. Spring Cleaning? Book Sale Donations Wanted!
What a great time to clean out your closet, bookshelves and more. The Friends of the Manchester Public library are actively working on the upcoming booksale (Saturday July 30th) and welcome your clean, usable book donations.
Please bring these to the library in one or two bags or boxes at a time, this lets the volunteer group keep up with the flow for sorting, pricing, and storing. Your help is much appreciated!
Shake off the winter blues and warm up at the first annual Winter Beach Blast to benefit the Spaulding Education Fund at the Manchester American Legion Featuring the sizzling hot sounds of acclaimed local band, The Runaround Sound, folks can end their winter hibernation with some ice-melting camaraderie all while supporting a great cause!
Manchester Public Library hosts an Altered Books Workshop. Use worn books as a canvas for many art forms with books. Bring your own discarded or use one of supplied. The evening flight of herons, egrets, and ibises as they return to their night roost is an amazing spectacle to watch, especially when they are returning into the largest heronry in Massachusetts, just off the coast of Coolidge Point. Bring your dinner and enjoy the aerial drama of the life-and-death struggle in the colony.
Queen Elsa from Disney's Frozen comes to life at Manchester Public Library with Carole Finn Weidman! Children will enjoy a live portrayal of the captivating character, Elsa, from Frozen on Wednesday, June 4th, 2 p.m., in the Children’s Room of the Manchester Public Library.
Be a part of your favorite fairy tale portrayed by actress, Carole Finn-Weidman! Music, story, entertainment to tie in with the popular story. Learn about where the tale began, come in costume if you like! All ages invited, especially for Preschool through 2nd grade!

The Manchester Public Library hosts Mass Audubon naturalists for an Audubon Ark demonstration focused on birds of prey like owls and hawks! There are two sessions, with one filled already, so sign up today before the spaces fill up! This program is designed by Drumlin Farm’s Audubon Ark and is especially geared for ages 3-5 so it is deliberately kept small in size and is a half hour program.
