Newburyport Youth Services and Kites Over New England invite you to join the fun for a day of winter wonder as kite flyers from around New England bring their large kites to fly over the field at Maudslay State Park. Bring your favorite kite as well! Come to one of two kite making lessons in the morning then fly the kites in the afternoon at Maudslay State Park.
Newburyport Youth Services hosts this wonderful event for the second year. Members of KONE - Kites Over New England (Un-official) will be there along with others flying larger kites so it will be a nice day to experience the joy of kites from simple to sophisticated. Blue Hill Meteorological Observatory will have a small educational exhibit and will also be selling kites for those who couldn't make the workshop or want to add to their collection.
Join us early for a kite making session between 9:30-10:30am at the Bresnahan School. Kite kits are $5 each (paid for onsite- cash only).
Stop by Maudslay State Park between 11am-3pm to fly your kite, see the large kites, do some sledding and enjoy some hot cocoa!
