The Love Your Neighbors 5K is an event meant to bring the Ipswich community and others together in the spirit of unity, and to advance social awareness. Each year, the Love Your Neighbors 5K will highlight & emphasize an event, group, or person who represents the spirit of equity, inclusion, and diversity.
Essex County Greenbelt Association will host the annual road cycle event to raise funds for conservation efforts on the North Shore! Cycling enthusiasts of all abilities can ride through some of Essex County’s most beautiful landscapes in this annual road cycle event to benefit local land conservation. Whether a seasoned road cyclist or a beginner, you can enjoy at your own pace one of three routes offered by Tour de Greenbelt: a 50 mile ride, a shorter route (25 miles), and Gravel Grinder Routes (40 mile and 28 mile), with off-road excursions into protected forests and reservations.

As part of COASTSWEEP Beach Cleanup, volunteers are encourage to come to Plum Island and help in the statewide effort to keep our coastline clean. COASTSWEEP is the annual statewide cleanup of Massachusetts coastal and riverine environments. Over more than 20 years, COASTSWEEP has engaged thousands of volunteers in cleaning hundreds of miles of shoreline and riverbanks.
What kinds of fascinating creatures live in or visit the ponds? Come and explore with the Park Interpreter to see if any creatures are stirring, and if any plants are flowering. For all ages. Join us for our special, hands-on Family Farm Chores program held on Fridays and Saturdays! Get on your muck boots – your whole family will get to be farmers together. Help feed the rabbits, Violet and Vanilla, the goats, Morgana, Maeve, Merlin, and Mordred, and the dairy cows, Gray and Jasmine. Collect eggs from our flock of chickens, muck and bed the stalls, scrub buckets, fill hay managers, and more.

We are going to all play many copies of Super Smash Brothers and Mario Kart at once (some on the Switch, some on the N64s provided), each player getting their name on a raffle ticket for every five minute round they win (SSB) or every 50cc course they win (MK). One prize for the most effectively lethal player (to be determined by Teen Librarian Katy's judgement of skill, enthusiasm, and growth) and one prize for the winner of the raffle.
Ipswich Public Library invites kids and families to kick off the Summer Reading program with the Plum Island Pans - a local steel drum band! The band originates from Zach Field Drums & Music in Newburyport. The 4-piece band consists of a lead steel drum, double second steel drums, 6 can bass and a drum set. Plum Island Pans has even performed at Fenway Park for The Boston Red Sox. For all ages! The program is free and no registration is required.
