Ipswich Recreation has a great lineup of activities and fun for February Vacation to keep your kids entertained and active with February Fun-o-rama! Boys and girls in grades 1-5 are invited to join in with their friends at the Winthrop Elementary School gymnasium, playground and theater! There will be basketball, floor hockey, soccer, whiffleball, Shipwreck, Capture the Flag, board games dance contests and more!
Celebrate the upcoming Ipswich Art Show and Ipswich Illuminated event by making and decorating a (plastic) mason jar lantern.
Kids will learn about the lace industry in Ipswich, view lace from the Museum’s collection and complete some lacy crafts. Complements summer exhibit. For all ages.
Kids will learn about the traditional art of rug hooking and try hooking their own sample. This program complements our summer exhibit. Ages 6 and up. Pre-registration recommended.
Get into the holiday season by creating your own evergreen wreath! Kids will craft their 16" wreaths by hand using local greenery, winter berries, fallen cones, holly leaves, ribbon, and more! Materials and instruction included. Parents are encouraged to attend but wreath making is for kids only please. (Check out our adult workshop as well: Appleton Wreath Making Workshop) Ages 8 and up.
Come to the Ipswich Fire Department to show off your costume and get some great Halloween loot. Stick around for some other Halloween fun and games!
Join us in the farmhouse for a craft making party! Leave your hat and mittens at the door and come get creative with our Farm Educator. While the farm animals are hunkered down and the wild animals are hibernating, we will use the winter landscape as our inspiration. Hot chocolate will be available in the farm kitchen throughout the program. Drop in between 9:30am-11am. Your crafting fun will take around 30 minutes so plan as you need for your schedule.
Kids are invited to the Ipswich Halloween Parade! Gather if you dare on the Ipswich Riverwalk, parade over the infested waters of the Ipswich River to nightmare on Elm Street, down haunted County Road, and ending at Town Hall Graveyard for cider and donuts! Presented by the Ipswich Police Community Resource Unit.
