Family Movie Day at Cape Ann Community Cinema featuring 'Into the Spiderverse' and 'Wreck It Ralph 2'

Gloucester Meetinghouse Foundation hosts a fun day of film and community fun for families at Cape Ann Community Cinema! It opens with refreshments at 10:00am and runs to 4:00pm. The event features two great movies plus games, prizes, face-painting, presentations, making indoor snowmen from white socks (bring extras!) and a pizza lunch. Please note this event is free for kids (best for ages 6-12) and their parents/guardians, thanks to the generosity of our Series Sponsors.

Vacation Kids Minecraft Club at SFL

Kids Minecraft Club at Sawyer Free Library in Gloucester MA

Play Minecraft with other children grades 1-5 (ages 6 and up)  Learn new tricks from each other and explore and build in a world together. This group is for children in grades 1 and up. Due to our child safety policy, at least one parent per session will need to volunteer to stay in the room the entire time of the program, from 3:30-4:30. Please register for just one session per month. If registration is full, please sign up on the wait list and we will schedule you soon!

Parent Caregiver Little Yogis at TreeTop Yoga

Yoga for families at TreeTop Yoga in Gloucester MA

A fun-filled yoga class for preschoolers. Little yogis use their imaginations to enjoy an introduction to the sun salutations, games, stories, breath work, and movement! A great way to release some energy, improve strength, and gain flexibility....and return to your arms relaxed and restored.

Please bring a water bottle. Parents or caregivers feel free to stay and watch your little yogi move!

What does the Cape Ann Farmers' Market have to offer in the dead of winter?  Plenty!  Pick up the last of the season’s produce, food items to get you you through the busy days ahead, and handmade gifts for all. This year we are sponsoring a Holiday Food Drive for The Open Door-our goal is to collect 100 items at the market by noon-help us reach our goal-bring in 10 items or more and receive a free CAFM Tote.

Reading Club with Coco the Therapy Dog

Kids can practice reading aloud with Coco a certified reading therapy dog at the Beverly Public Library

Children, in grades 1-5, who are struggling with reading are invited to read with Coco! Certified reading therapy dog Coco, and her owner Randi, will visit the library twice a month to help children practice reading and gain confidence. Six 10 minute slots (3 per day) will be available for children to read aloud to Coco one-on-one. Children may bring their own book or use a library book.

"The Little House" Opening Celebration

The Little House: Her Story exhibit opening at the Cape ann Museum in Gloucester Massaschusetts.

The Little House: Her Story features the work of beloved children's book author & illustrator and founder of the Folly Cove Designers Virginia Lee Burton (1909-1968). In addition to Burton's drawings, book illustrations and prints, an artfully-created scale model of her "Little House," which was fabricated in Japan for an exhibition held at the Gallery A4 in Tokyo last year, will also be on display in the gallery.
