Step back into the 1920s during this season’s monthly Open Houses at The Stevens-Coolidge Place. Curious to see the full house? Join the Trustees for full house tours being offered every half hour from 10am to 2pm on a first come, first serve basis. The last house tour will begin around 1:30. The tours will bring you through the whole house and will lead you in the story of Helen and John Coolidge.
Get outside with your family this Mother’s Day and celebrate Mom with a picnic at The Stevens-Coolidge Place surrounded by the peak of lilac season. Enjoy live music by Julianne and Barry Johnston of the Brookline Music School. Explore the garden with your little ones. Play croquet, bocce, ring toss, and other lawn games that will be set up throughout the garden. Take a family photo among the beautiful gardens.
Fresh from the garden, learn the skills to assemble a petite but dramatic posy arrangement that allow its ingredients to shine, featuring the ultimate queen of spring – the peony. Learn how to create a beautiful posy arrangement that combines both traditional and whimsical ingredients for a beautiful and unexpected combination.
We will plant Pansies and other spring plants into a spring basket to make a living Easter Basket that can be given as a gift or kept for your Easter doorstep. Nothing says Easter and springtime like Pansies!
You spent the summer watching them flit about your gardens, now it’s time to wish them well on their trip down to Mexico – it’s the Monarch Migration Celebration at Stevens-Coolidge Place! This celebration will kick off with a children’s pollinator parade around the property (costumes encouraged!) bringing all visitors to an afternoon of demos, crafts & stories, seed bomb making and gardening tips to bring these orange friends to your yard in the spring.

In addition to pick-your-own favorites like zinnias, cosmos and rudbeckia, visitors will find new varieties to add pop and flair to their bouquets. The garden is fun for all ages and there is always something new to learn! Please note there is a fee to cut flowers and picking is only available at the Cutting Garden during PYO hours.
Backyard Growers Presents: The second annual Gloucester Grow Fest! Join us at Burnham's field on Saturday, June 9th to celebrate healthy eating, green living, and warm weather! There will be garden tours, art projects, yummy food, games, live music, community yoga, and more! This event is free and has something for people of all ages. See you there!
