The Revolutionary War Was the first of many for Newburyport!

Join us in celebration of Newburyport’s 250th anniversary as we honor the veterans of all wars from Newburyport’s history since 1764. Military vehicles, uniforms, displays, and living historians will give you a glimpse into life during wartime from the Revolutionary War to present day.

Children will love the mystery behind the decor of the Crane Estate Great House

The Trustees of Reservations hosts a fun afternoon at The Great House at Castle Hillof fun for families with proceeds to benefit the Ipswich Humane Group! Explore the Great House while searching for images of animals in paintings, wallpaper, and decorative arts. Each child will receive a small prize for completing the treasure hunt. Don't miss the face painting and coloring table, too!

Tour Bart Stuyf's beautiful seaside Design Studio and see his copper sculptures!

Take a Trails & Sails tour of copper sculpture by the sea and meet the artist! Bart Stuyf is a sculptor whose studio is located in Gloucester overlooking the outer harbor and the Eastern Point Lighthouse. His studio will be open to visitors on the Trails & Sails weekends. As a former dancer and choreographer, Bart's whimsical creations reflect his eye for form and movement. His copper sculptures are placed around the property and there is a studio and showroom.

Join the Peabody Historical Society & Museum Smith Barn & Peabody Historical Commission for a Trails & Sails exploration of the history of change in a downtown setting, namely Peabody Square. Our reference point will be a letter written in 1902 commenting on places, buildings and people from an earlier Peabody.

Join The Trustees of Reservations and Essex River Basin Adventures (ERBA) for a guided kayak paddle of Crane Wildlife Refuge in Essex Bay. This introductory paddle teaches participants the basics of sea kayaking before setting out to explore what Yankee Magazine called "the best place to kayak in New England."
