People of all ages enjoy learning about owls, and many species of owls can be found in Massachusetts year-round. Come experience the excitement of an owl prowl as we take a night hike to look and listen for barred, great horned, and eastern screech-owls. The wolf is an amazing survivor in its wild habitat, but human distrust of this predator once pushed it to near extinction. In the documentary, Wolves, we'll meet a pack up-close and learn how environmentalists in the American West worked to protect the wolves and bring them back from the edge of extinction. After the movie, we'll open up the floor to exchange opinions about the wolves. We'll discuss the protection and reintroduction of endangered species, and how the protection of wolves elsewhere can impact protection of rare species in our backyard. Popcorn will be served!
