This year at Home Sweet Home we are celebrating the architects and craftspeople who designed and built our historic properties. From grand mansions to humble colonials to mid-century modern masterpieces, the historic houses of the Trustees all have a story to tell. Come experience all the unique history and rich architecture contained within each home at this FREE event.

Learn about the area once called the "witches' woods" while enjoying the new greenery. Beverly Commons Conservation Area is 126 acres of trails of all kinds-- soft dirt, rock slabs, bog bridge, and old carriage road. Learn about the history of the conservation area while we get our arms and legs moving on this fun hike.

Movie Night - First Man

Movie Night at Manchester Public Library features 'First Man'.

The Library will be showing, First Man, the biographical drama based on Neil Armstrong’s journey to the Apollo 11 mission to the moon. During the 1960’s Space Race, NASA test pilot Neil Armstrong faces numerous challenges in his personal and professional life as he strives to prove that he is willing to risk everything to achieve one of the greatest accomplishments in human history: the first lunar landing. This movie stars Ryan Gosling, Claire Foy and Kyle Chandler.

Celebrate and re-enact the single most important event leading up to the American Revolution—the Boston Tea Party

Step inside for an incredible journey back in time. Be a participant in the single most important event leading up to the American Revolution at the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum. Join in on one of Boston´s most iconic protests. Re-enactors from across New England come together to tell the story of the Boston Tea Party and dramatize the evening of December 16, 1773. this annual event is your own time machine to Boston's colonial past!

Family Nature Night: Half-Moon Stroll

Hike to Spencer Peirce-Little Farm in Newburyport Massachusetts with the Mass Audubon under the half moon.

Join naturalists from Joppa Flats Education Center on a nocturnal hike and learn about nocturnal animal senses, the moon, and the stars! We'll go on a short walk to Spencer-Peirce-Little Farm's back field to stargaze before returning to Joppa Flats' back yard for hot cocoa around the fire pit.

Chirstmas at Castle Hill is a weekend of festivities hosted by the Trustees of Reservations at Castle Hill in Ipswich Massachusetts

Visiting Castle Hill at Christmas is a time-honored tradition for many New England families. Don't miss this year's spectacular "Christmas by the Sea". Each room in our 1920s mansion is festively decorated by florists, designers, garden clubs, or volunteers. You'll find live music and dance, fresh baked cookies and cider, a treasure hunt, family activities, and a visit with Santa.

Explore the the Crane Wildlife Refuge by boat with the Trustees of Reservations!

Explore the waters Crane Wildlife Refuge on the Crane Estate by boat with the Trustees of Reservations! Join us for a cruise in Essex Bay aboard our pontoon boat the Osprey! We’ll view the seldom seen backside of the Crane Wildlife Refuge, and take a turn around Choate Island to view the open fields, wooded hillside and historic structures from the water.

Night Hike: Sounds, Stars & S'mores

Explore The Trustees of Reservations Appleton Farms and learn about what the creatures of the habitat as night falls!

When the sun starts to go down a whole new world comes alive. Owls wake up from a long days rest, tree frogs call in the distance, stars create a magical light display, your body changes in accomadate the new world, and so much more. Join us for an evening walk at Appleton Farms where our Farm Educator will show you what amazing things exist when the night begins. You will learn night animal sounds, explore for nocturnal creatures, experience how the human body changes at night with hands on activities to test things like your night vision, and enjoy the mood of Autumn with some warm apple cider and smores.

Brookwood School Summer Program for kids Pre-K through 9 in Manchester Massachusetts

Lego Time at MPL

Children in grades 2 and up are invited to come to the Manchester Massachusetts Library's Lego Club
Drop-in, unstructured Lego building fun! Come with friends or come to make new ones, this program is for kids ages six and up.

Chess Instruction at Abbot Library

Kids can play clocked chess matches against each other each Wednesday at the Abbot Public Library in Marblehead Massachusetts
Students in grades 2-6 are invited to weekly evening chess instruction by high school student Flynn MacCallum at levels from beginner through advanced players on Mondays in the Children’s Room. The Children’s Room will provide chess boards and pieces. This program is supported by the Oliver P....
