This evening event will provide a tour of ifarm’s many facets, including: the farm’s 240-year history, our historic farmhouse, barn, and carriage house venues, our cut flower gardens, (which feature over forty varieties of flowers) and our permaculture (permanent agriculture) gardens, which utilize both traditional and innovative techniques for raising crops as sustainably as possible.
It’s Base Ball, 1861 style at Spencer Peirce Little Farm! These fun, historically accurate games feature underhand pitching and no gloves are allowed. A ball bounced once and caught is an out! Snacks, baseballs, and cards are available for purchase. Come and see for yourself how this game was played in the 1860's.
Enjoy a day of traditional music, baseball, and farm activities featuring New Orleans brass band, bluegrass, rock, funk, jazz, and beyond.! Watch Vintage Base Ball played by 1861 rules. See tractors and other farm equipment spanning the last eighty years. Try your hand at corn husking and win prizes at the pie-eating contest.
Come join the fun at Connors Farm in Danvers and celebrate the second annual peach festival! The price of admission includes a lot of fun family activities that will keep the troops happily entertained for the day! The admission is priced right and portions of the proceeds will go to benefit the Breast Cancer Foundation.
Join the North Shore Amateur Astronomy Club (NSAAC) at ifarm to experience the wonders of the night sky. NSAAC members will be present with a number of telescopes for attendees to use. The telescopes will be set to observe different phenomena in the night sky. Before the viewing, an NSAAC astronomer will give a short presentation on the different marvels you will see that evening. Possible selections include double star systems, globular clusters (collections of hundreds of thousands of stars that orbit our galaxy), and nebula (exploded stars as well as star-forming regions).
Have you ever felt how soft a chickens feathers are or wondered what sheep say? Join us for our Saturday barnyard spend the day with some of Appleton’s Animals! Stop by anytime between 10AM – 12:30PM for fantastic farmyard meet and greets, a craft, learning stations and more! You’ll get to brush our goats, meet our bunnies, feed our chickens and card wool from our sheep.
Balers and bucket loaders and tractors, oh my! Pack a picnic and spend a summer evening at Appleton Farms meeting our machines. You'll get to climb aboard backhoes, check out manure spreaders and try out the view from our tractors. Afterwards, enjoy music and your picnic brought from home in the stone paddock.
Come to Cider hill Farm for our Blueberry Festivaland get your seasonal fill of this wonderful superfood! There will be Blueberry Picking, Hayrides, Live Music, Cotton Candy Cart, Food for our farm food truck, The PitchFORK, and a Fresh Pressed Lemonade Cart where you can try our Blueberry Mint Lemonade, Strawberry Basil or keep it simple with a classic lemonade.
Wee Farmers is designed for our 3-5 year old friends who want to explore the farm, meet our animals, and get a taste of what Farm Camp is like at Appleton! You’ll get to dig into life on the farm and lend a helping hand brushing our goats, feeding our bunnies, making butter and taste testing in the education garden! Learn about how we grow our vegetables and see how good your senses are with Harvest Blanket. Meet our cows and learn how we milk them. We’ll start our morning with a quick craft before venturing out for some farm discovery and nature exploration.
