Our theme is Animal Partners and it takes place indoors at Joppa Flats Education Center. This 90 minute program is all about which animals team up with other animals in nature. From fish to honeybees, to hermit crabs and anemones - we will learn why animals work together to become babysitters, housecleaners, and bodyguards to each other!

In addition to some faithful standards such as touch tanks and tours of East Point, the Center will be showcasing the work and talent of its research labs and academic programs. With a half dozen new faculty members in the past year, there’s a lot more to explore!
Nature journaling is a tool for making discoveries about nature. It involves drawing, but you don't have to be an artist. It involves writing, labeling, and making notes about what you notice and wonder. Above all, it involves taking a closer look. After a brief orientation and introductory exercises, the class will explore the journaling process along the trails of the sanctuary.
Maritime Gloucester wants kids in grades 6-8 to build their own submersible robot! Project Sea Perch is a course in ROV (Remote Operated Vehicle) design and construction for middle school students. During the program students will have the opportunity to construct their own underwater robots, test them, and use them in scientific explorations of Gloucester Harbor. Students will keep their ROV’s at the close of the course.
Maritime Gloucester and the Gloucester Education Foundation have teamed up to create an intensive hands-on, minds on introductory genetics program for Gloucester Public School students entering grades 9 through 12.

The M is for Museum museum-themed programs are led by museum educators and designed to introduce young children to the world of museums in a fun and interactive setting. Pre-school age and up.
The Newburyport Department of Public Health, Division of Community Nursing will sponsor an informational program on ticks and Lyme disease in the Newburyport Public Library’s Program Room. This event will feature three local specialists: Dr. Joseph Gross, Dr. Ames Ziegra and Dr. Esteban Cuebas-Incle.
