Kids can explore the Coolidge Reservation with their favorite adult!

Curiosity companions explore the woodlands of Bungalow Hill, Clarke's Pond, and meadows of Ocean Lawn - discovering the wonders of nature while using all your senses. Song, stories, and puppets included! This program is for young children accompanied by their favorite adult. Learn about the conservationists who provided this community gift. Ceremonial Time: Fifteen Thousand Years of Fifty Acres

Find out the story behind the granite at Halibut Point State Park in Rockport!

Halibut Point State Park is also a granite quarry with a history that goes back billions of years! A “psychological” history and “spirit” of a place gathered via history, anthropology, and geology. Join the interpreter for a less than typical program that takes you back in time on Cape Ann when other humans inhabited this beautiful area. Meet at the Visitors Center in the park. For all ages. Rain or shine, pouring rain cancels.

Lazy Afternoon on the Ipswich River

Spend the afternoon on the Ipswich River with Mass Audubon!

Bring your young naturalist to the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary to enjoy an afternoon on the Ipswich River! The dog days of summer can be unpleasant, to say the least. Escape the heat with a relaxing paddle on the cool waters of the Ipswich River and enjoy some ice cream, too! We will take a short trip up to shady Perkins Island where we will enjoy some frozen treats and then take our time meandering downstream while enjoying the beauty of the surrounding marshes and forests.

Cape Ann Capers: Beachcombers

Explore the beach and shore habitats of Mass Audubon's Eastern Point Reserve

Enjoy a morning at the beach during low tide and discover the living wonders of the rocky shore and sandy coastline. We will look for crabs, starfish, shorebirds, and other seashore animals. Explore the wrack line and sandy beach to compare and sort the natural materials and seaweeds that have washed ashore. We will preserve our memories of the day by creating our own beach collages.

Piping Plover Hatchings

Coem to Sandy Point State Reservation to witness hatching piping plovers!

You're invited to Sandy Point State Reservation to learn about the endangered piping plover, and to witness the hatching of the chicks! Join the Interpreter and Parker River Biologist for a fascinating look at the plover chicks that are protected on our shores. Bring binoculars or spotting scope and learn about these endangered members of the sandpiper family that nest on our shores. Meet at the lower parking lot. Appropriate for families with children.

Teens are invited to discover their Spirit Animals at the Beverly Library!

Beverly Public Library invites teens to explore themselves and discover their Spirit Animals! Discover the animal lurking within you; then make it out of clay! The Zuni and other Pueblo Indians carve animals small enough to fit into their pockets. They believe these connect the humans who carry them to the spirit of the animals they represent.
