Courtyard Concert: Rainbow Splash Variety Show with Caroline Harvey

During the summer, enjoy free concerts in the Cape Ann Museum Courtyard at 27 Pleasant Street, Gloucester, on Thursdays from 5:00-7:00 pm. Offered as part of the city-wide Culture Splash, the Courtyard Concerts feature local and regional musicians whose music ranges from salsa to sea shanties, bluegrass to jazz, and reggae to folk.
Captains Courageous at CAM

Join us at the Cape Ann Museum Green for a free screening of the classic Gloucester film, Captains Courageous on Saturday, August 28 in partnership with the Cape Ann Community Cinema. Captains Courageous is a legendary 1937 film about a Portuguese fisherman who rescues the son of a railway tycoon after the boy fell overboard from an ocean liner. Based on Rudyard Kipling’s 1897 novel, the movie was filmed primarily in Gloucester. Photographs from the Museum’s Library & Archives document the filming.

For generations children have enjoyed exploring tide pools and discovering the fascinating plants and animals that live in this realm between the tides. A refuge ranger will guide this hands-on program.
Salem Pond Loop Hike at Harold Parker

Join the Park Interpreter on this easy to moderate 2-mile hike and discover the story of the Civilian Conservation Corps along the way. Bring water and a snack. Wear sturdy footwear. For ages 6 and up. Meet at the Jenkins Parking Lot, 87 Harold Parker Road, Andover.
Peach Festival at Connors Farm

Come join the fun at Connors Farm in Danvers and celebrate the second annual peach festival! The price of admission includes a lot of fun family activities that will keep the troops happily entertained for the day!
Pride Outside Hike Series: Ward Reservation

Come and explore Ward Reservation with The Trustees and McVAGLY (Merrimack Valley Alliance of GLBT Youth) on this evening hike. Ward Reservation boasts 12 miles of trails and the highest point in Essex County where we’ll catch the sunset upon the conclusion of our hike. Among the highlights of the walk will be the quaking bog, scenic vistas and historic apple orchards. We will enjoy the beauty of June in New England, learn some basic plant identification, and also enjoy an activity provided by our friends at ReVision Energy.
