Grades 6-12 will learn to creat Zentangle! Grades 6-12: Join us in the Program Room to make your own Zentangle designs. All you need is a pencil, some paper, and your imagination! We'll have templates to fill in, or blank pages for free-hand designs!
Manchester Public Library welcomes families to come to the parking lot behind Town Hall to touch, climb inside, and even honk the horns of the real vehicles our Fire Department, Department of Public Works, and Police Departments use in Manchester-by-the-Sea! Plus there will be wheels and fuel (cookies and drinks). Kids of all ages are welcome! No need to register.
Need Help With Your Picture Book Writing for Cape Ann Reads?
Amanda Cook of the Writer's Center is offering a free series of writer's Workshops for all ages on Wednesdays in the Sawyer Free Public Library (Gloucester) These classes are open to all writers interested in working on a Picture Book entry for the Cape Ann Reads (Manchester, Essex, Gloucester, Rockport) project. Classes will be May-October, Third Wednesday of every month, 1-2 PM, Sawyer Free Library.
Children of all ages will enjoy reading, walking, moving, and having fun to two great outdoor books: Stella, Star of the Sea and Storm Whale. These great coastal stories will engage children as they walk along reading each upright sign outdoors.
What does composing music mean? Through guided, interactive exercises, we will explore how ideas and emotions can be translated into sound, and how these elements can be combined and crafted into a short composition.

Come to the Abbot Public Library May 9 – June 2 to step into Marblehead's own version of the Van Gogh's Starry Night. This inspired theme will be the backdrop for this year’s Marblehead High School's Annual Senior Art Show. The show will exhibit different media, from photographs to busts to paintings, all created by the students of the class of 2016. Many of the pieces have won awards in art competitions and are truly spectacular to look upon. The opening night reception will be on Monday, May 16, from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm in the Abbot's art gallery.
Grades 6-12: We'll bring the paint, brushes, and canvas, you bring the inspiration! Join us in the Program Room for an afternoon of art, starting at 3:30. Paint whatever you like, and keep your final creation!
You and your child are invited to a morning of playtime, stories, songs, bubbles, and movement. Children have lots of fun and a its great way to introduce your child to other children his/her own age. While this program is geared towards children 3+ all are welcome! No registration required.
