Summer Solstice Walk/Run 5k

Run to raise funds for cancer research at Dana Farber and the Ipswich YMCA

Throw on your running shoes and get ready for the Summer Solstice 5k Run/Walk! The Proceeds from this event will support two organizations – the Ipswich YMCA and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. This race is to honor Bill – a former member and previously on the board of directors of the YMCA who unfortunately lost his battle with Multiple Myeloma. This race is to support some of the causes that he supported in the hopes that they will be able to help others. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to run for a cause.

Family Campout: Discovering the Sanctuary

Explore the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary after hours and join us for a night

Join Mass Audubon for a night of camping under the stars with your family. Have an early dinner at home, and then come with your family and your tent. We will explore nature through games and hands-on activities, set up our tents near the Barn before sundown, and tell stories after the sun sets. All campouts include an evening and a morning activity or hike and a light breakfast.

Tide Pool Explorers at Sandy Point

Low tide is the perfect time for tide pooling at Sandy Point Reservation!

Join the Interpreter too explore the tide pools at SSandy Point! We will be looking at ddifferent organisms that inhhabit the pools such as crabs, sand dollars, starfish, periwwinkles, and many more! Meet at the first parking lot near thee beach entrance. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Parking at Sandy Pooint is limited. The astronomy & science club is for grade-school children who are interested in learning more about Science, Astronomy, and outer space. in the fall of 2014, kids will be exploring the Science of Superheroes! Can people use science to replicate superpowers? Can we see through solid objects, talk to each other with just our minds, become invisible? And how about flying like either Superman or Iron Man? We will take a hard look at our favorite superpowers, separate myth from what might be possible and create our own superheroes.
